Group O blood donors in Iran: evaluation of isoagglutinin titers and immunoglobulin G subclasses

چکیده
Abstract This study aims to determine the most frequent titers of anti-A and anti-B (both presumed immunoglobulin [Ig]M IgG) in Iranian group O blood donors compare these titer values with those found other studies. In addition, alloantibody production plasma levels four IgG subclasses were compared between high-titer non–high-titer groups. investigated 358 samples. Based on results, two groups (high-titer non–high-titer) formed. Antibody detection tests performed detect unexpected antibodies D, C, c, E, e, K, k, Fy a , b Jk M, N, S, s, P1, Le . Four also evaluated through nephelometry assay. The obtained by room temperature indirect antiglobulin tube was 256. frequency ≥512 31.5 percent. None cases showed RBC alloantibodies. IgG2 significantly higher group. Evaluation isoagglutinin can provide insight into both within population as populations. A significant difference identified. More investigation needs be conducted root cause this finding. Immunohematology 2021;37:5–12

Titers of ABO antibodies in group O blood donors
BACKGROUND Plasma components of group O blood donations are rarely submitted to ABO antibody titrations even though it is well known that passively acquired antibodies may destroy the recipient's own red cells and tissue grafts. OBJECTIVE Thus, group O donations stratified by gender and age were randomly titrated to identify the best source of products for apheresis and exsanguinous transfusi...
متن کاملPlacental transfer of immunoglobulin G subclasses.
The concentrations in cord blood of total immunoglobulin G (IgG) and the four subclasses of IgG were measured in 34 fetuses at a mean gestational age of 25 weeks (range, 18 to 35 weeks). The blood samples were obtained by percutaneous umbilical blood sampling, and results were compared with the respective IgG subclass concentrations of the mothers. The efficiency of transplacental transfer of t...
متن کاملComparison and characterization of immunoglobulin G subclasses among primate species.
Little information is available on the immunoglobulin G (IgG) subclasses expressed in the sera of nonhuman primate species. To address this issue, we compared the IgG subclasses found in humans (IgG1, IgG2, IgG3, and IgG4) to those of nonhuman primates, such as baboons and macaques. Cross-reactive antihuman IgG subtype-specific reagents were identified and used to analyze purified IgG from sera...
متن کاملDifferent Immune Responses in Dangerous O Blood Donors
Background & Objective: Dangerous O is very important to transfusion medicine and there has been reports by Food and Drug Administration (FDA) regarding some death relating incidences. As high iso-antibody production is closely associated with different immune reactions, a survey on the different immune response of dangerous O donors can lead to understanding their immune respo...
